We have all been there where we argue over who does what in the household or whos turn it is to do the dishes as you cooked and did them last night. If only we had a better way of handling these types of situations instead of having a meltdown with possible plates or cups being thrown, right? Well, it seems that yet again the older generation can teach us all a thing or two on how to handle daily chores the right way.

bork1138 has taken to Reddit to share his story on how his parents manage their marriage with class when it comes to who does what and that's a simple game of Mario Kart 64, just how it should be. Apparently, his parents stick on some Mario Kart to decide who will be next to make a cup of tea with the winner able to sit back and not only gloat about their victory but also with a warm drink to accompany it while the other is probably swearing under their breath in the kitchen, no doubt. Oh, to be a fly on the wall in that household.

Every day my parents play Mario Kart 64 to see who will make a cuppa tea. They’ve done this religiously since 2001. from r/gaming

The son has said that his parents have been settling duties this way since 2001 making it a whopping 18 years of intense Mario Kart 64 battles on the only console you should play it on - the trusty Nintendo 64. Obviously, with anything you post on the internet, you come up against people who troll and in this particular post, some comments were calling him out and not believing that this was a real thing his parents did - which he quickly cleared up.

bork1138 also states that "they both know all the tricks, to the point where a few years back they had to agree not to use shortcuts or cheats as they would bicker". So, there you have it, folks - to save yourself any bitter arguments, pick up a controller and hash it out fair and square as, after all, the older generation know best, right?
