Atlus dropped some surprising and (depending on who you ask) disappointing news concerning Persona 4: Dancing All Night's Free Dance mode.

Free Dance mode allows players to freely choose a character as well as their costume. However, you cannot select whatever song you'd like, as each one is tied to a specific character.

Players can pick their support character, though, who comes equipped with a unique choreography depending on the song's main character.

There are at least ten characters and roughly thirty songs (not including DLC tracks), meaning that each character will only have about three songs to select from. I do wish there was more variety in this selection but at least the backup dancer will add some sort of variation to each song.
