Originally planned for a summer release, today Sega announced that they wanted to put more development time behind the upcoming revival of the classic franchise. Along with the bad news, however, came some good news. While the game is being delayed a bit, Sega did announce that and iPhone iteration of the title was in the works, as well. That isn’t all, though! They’ve also released a new video, showing some of the game play in the first area of the game, Splash Hill Zone.
Back to their decision to push the game back a few months, here is what their official site had to say on the matter:
SEGA has made the decision to ensure that Sonic 4: Episode I is a game worthy of bearing the weight of its name. To do so, we’ve decided to extend the game’s development – and, for the first time ever, we’ve mixed internal suggestions alongside fan feedback to make some new, positive changes to the game.
It definitely is nice, as fans, to know that they take the feedback they receive to positive effect. Perhaps we’ll see some of that reflected in the final product.
