Sonic Fox Experiences a Kreepy Glitch During a Live Mortal Kombat X Stream

A live stream of Mortal Kombat X on Sonic Fox's Twitch channel reveals a ghostly glitch during a match between Rewind and Noble Semiij.

January 7, 2019

The Mortal Kombat franchise is well known for its over-the-top violence and classic arcade style gameplay. However, there are two more things that the series is also quite famous for. First and foremost is a spectacularly creepy atmosphere and unsettling scenery. Secondly, its history is riddled with unintentional glitches. So much so, that popular characters such as Ermac and Skarlet have actually been created as a response to these mishaps. Esports professional Sonic Fox recently experienced a spooky glitch that was enough to give him a fright.

A recent stream on Sonic Fox’s official Twitch channel saw popular fighting game players Rewind and Noble Semiij engaging in a Kotal Kahn mirror match on Mortal Kombat X’s Sky Temple stage. This particular stage features monks in the background which can be grabbed and lobbed across the screen in order to damage opponents.

As the two entered the second round of their fight, a monk’s sprite could be seen standing in a T-pose while facing away from the camera. The glitch only lasted an instant before the monk silently disappeared once again. The players can then be heard excitedly calling for a member of the stream’s 2,700 viewers at the time to clip the footage for further inspection while also admitting that the glitch scared them a little.

Mortal Kombat X’s two-time Evo champion Sonic Fox has since uploaded the ghostly clip to his Twitter channel, which you can viewed below. A number of his sharp-eyed followers have also posted screenshots of the glitch into the replies section beneath the original post.

If you want to catch up on the classic fighting game’s storyline before the upcoming installment Mortal Kombat 11 hits platforms later this year, you can pick up a copy of Mortal Kombat X or the complete edition, Mortal Kombat XL, on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
