The celebrations from the recent Mortal Kombat 11 reveal event ran long into the night. Starting off with gameplay footage of the brutal fighter and a presentation by series co-creator Ed Boon delving into the new features the game has to offer; the night went on to allow a number of professional players to engage in head to head exhibition matches.

One such match featured Injustice 2 player Rewind taking on 2018's esports player of the year, Sonic Fox. The gruesome first-to-five set saw Rewind playing as the franchises' thunder god Raiden while Sonic Fox chose Mortal Kombat veteran Sonya Blade who is now voiced by Ronda Rousey.

The long and grueling set saw the two professional fighting game players trading heavy blows as Sonic Fox tried to close in while Rewind took advantage of Raiden's fantastic zoning capabilities. With both fighters on set point, the final round saw Sonic Fox claiming victory by cornering Rewind before indulging in a celebratory fatality move.
