Sonic Generations Will Also Come to Nintendo 3DS

Sega today announced that its 20th-anniversary homage to one of, if not the, most recognizable hedgehog in all of video games will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS in addition to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Sonic Generations is a love-letter to the Blue Blur’s Genesis and Dreamcast days. The title will feature stages inspired by levels from Sonic’s 2D and 3D eras, with remixed soundtracks to really hit the nostalgia home. Players will have the option of controlling Sonic in his current incarnation or the squatter, more portly but still as blindingly fast old-school counterpart.

Sonic’s latest handheld adventure will drop Nov. 22 in the U.S. Console versions of the title drop Nov. 1. No word yet on whether or not the hedgehog’s chili dog fixation will make an appearance, but purists can dream.
