There is no denying that Sonic Mania was one of the most popular Sonic titles in recent years; from receiving a slew of positive reception from fans to becoming the highest rated Sonic game in the last 15 years. That being said, today during the Gotta Go Fast: The Official Sonic the Hedgehog Panel at SXSW, Sega announced a new animated short series based on the game titled Sonic Mania Adventures.

According to the developer, the new animated short series will compose of five episodes that will be done by the same talented team that worked on Sonic Mania's opening cinematic while the show's soundtrack will be done by Sonic Mania's composer, Tee Lopez. Sonic Mania Adventures will consist of five videos, and each episode will share connecting story. As the title implies the series will star titular blue hedgehog, who is accompanied by his companions, Miles ‘Tails’ Prower and Knuckles the Echidna.

Additionally, during the panel, Sega confirmed that these episodes would not include any dialogue. However, the entire series will be available on YouTube, free of charge. On top of that, the first episode set to be released next month with each month getting one new episode until August, which is ideal for Sonic fans as they patiently wait for Sonic Mania Plus to launch.
