SEGA announced earlier today that they would be revealing two new Sonic the Hedgehog related projects at their Gotta Go Fast: The Official Sonic the Hedgehog Panel at SXSW. One of those projects was Sonic Mania Plus, a definitive physical edition of last year's critically acclaimed 2D Sonic game. That being said, one more title was teased at the end of the event - a new Sonic the Hedgehog racing game.

The Sonic the Hedgehog series is no stranger to racing games. Back on the Game Gear, there was the Sonic Drift series. On the Sega Saturn, there was the infamous Sonic R. Even more recently, the Sumo Digital-developed Sonic & All-Stars Racing series graced last-gen consoles. While details on this new Sonic racing title are currently scarce, we do know that it isn't a sequel to any previous Sonic racing game.

As for the short teaser trailer, it doesn't tell us much about the game. It begins with a car revving up, only to go to the game's logo with only the R lit up. You can check out this teaser trailer at the bottom of this article.

While this title is currently without an official name, platforms, or release window, DualShockers will be sure to let you know when all of those things are announced.
