Sonic Sneaker Collaboration from PUMA and SEGA Arrives on June 5

The PUMA X SEGA RS-0 Sonic and Dr. Eggman sneakers are heading to digital store shelves starting on June 5, 2018.

Get ready sneakerheads of the gaming community — SEGA and PUMA have finally announced when their Sonic the Hedgehog sneaker line will be available to purchase. Beginning June 5, 2018, fans of the game (or just the sick kicks) can grab both the PUMA X SEGA RS-0 Sonic and RS-0 Dr. Eggman from PUMA’s website for $130.

Along with this revealed release date, we got a brand new, close-up glimpse at both models of shoes. The RS-0 Sonic takes clear notes from Green Hill Zone, going as far as being adorned with 16-bit grass on the heel. Other than that, you can note Sonic’s trademark blue color, the gold-ring accents, and the gold insoles.

Meanwhile, the RS-0 Dr. Eggman sports the Dr. Eggman’s iconic Eggmobile yellow/black caution design, placed against the backdrop of the deep red. On the bottom of the shoe you’ll note the Sonic the Hedgehog logo, and Dr. Eggman’s twisted grin is adorned on the side.

While the actual release date is news, it is no surprise that the crossover between PUMA and SEGA was happening. The sneaker line was revealed to be coming in June, however there was no exact date attached to it. And this is far from the only gaming crossover PUMA has pulled off, with their previous support of Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.

This is hardly the only Sonic the Hedgehog news to come out as of late. In late April, SEGA revealed that Sonic Mania Plus would be getting a physical release, and would be officially coming to Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One on July 17, 2018. If you want to pre-order the game, you can currently do so on Amazon.

As mentioned above, you can grab both the PUMA x SEGA RS-0 Sonic and Dr. Eggman beginning June 5, 2018 from the PUMA site. Check out the pictures of both shoes in high definition, below:
