Sega has announced that Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I will release across all platforms throughout the month of October. The downloadable title will first become available on the iTunes App Store on October 7th, followed by the Wii Shop Channel on October 11th, the PlayStation Network on October 12th, and on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace on October 13th.

Pricing goes as follows:

• 1200 Microsoft Points ($14.99) for Xbox 360
• $14.99 for PlayStation 3
• 1500 Wii Points ($15) for Wii

The pricing for the iTunes App Store release (which is arriving earliest) will be announced later this week.

At this time, Sega has not announced how many episodes it plans to release for the series.
