My all-time favorite blue hedgehog is here! That's right, Sonic is back with a brand new trailer for the Sonic The Hedgehog just dropped on YouTube and it gives us a new look at the new redesign.

Remember earlier this year when the original teaser images had started to get Sonic fans excited, but also concerned about the style of the character from a silhouette alone? And then we got the official trailer that launched in April, giving us a first look at the film adaption version of the speedy blue hedgehog. It was safe to say people were not impressed and it led to internet outrage calling for a rework.

This led to Jim Carrey sharing his thoughts after the director announced that the film would be redesigning the blue hedgehog.

SEGA and Paramount Pictures listened and got working on a re-design, but this pushed the release date to 2020. And now here we are, with a brand new trailer featuring Ben Schwartz as Sonic and Jim Carrey as Dr. Ivo Robotnik.

Personally, I think they've captured the new Sonic perfectly. It certainly seems more cartoony and less like the original photorealistic version, even down to the less creepy human legs and altered height. But it's no lie that it's a huge improvement from the original design.

Jim Carrey also seems to fit the role of Robotnik wonderfully and his dancing is on form as always. Honestly? I'm excited about this.

There's also a brand new poster that has been revealed on the official Twitter page for the movie.

The film is due to launch in theatres on February 14, 2020. What are your thoughts on the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog title and the redesign?
