Sony Announces DriveClub

on February 20, 2013 7:20 PM

From Evolution Studios, DriveClub is a concept that has been cooking for nearly a decade. Evolution said they were waiting “for technology to deliver our vision.” And with the power of the PS4, the time is now.

DriveClub is based on “team-based racing,”  and like squad-based first-person-shooters, will encourage players to join or create driving clubs that they can stay connected to 24/7. Everything about DriveClub is based on “collaborative gameplay,” which can be played asynchronously or in realtime, and allows players to challenge other drivers in races as teams, set challenges for others to beat, and will keep players in first person perspective throughout the entire game to establish the idea that this is their racing club, and their cars.

Cars are being design with “an obsessive love” and Evolution promises a game that will keep players engaged. Does DriveClub sound like the type of racing game you’ve been waiting for? Let us know in the comments below, and stay tuned to for more new.

Born and raised in video games and "geek culture," Masoud has been bred off of fantasy worlds his entire life and doesn't see anything wrong with that. He loves RPGs (especially TRPGs), sandbox games, the sci-fi genre, dieselpunk, art deco, and anything that allows him to create. Having graduated from John Jay College with a degree in English and a minor in Creative Writing, Masoud hopes to one day pen the same novels, comics, movies, and video games he enjoys escaping into when the real world gets too boring.
