Sony Announces Free PlayStation VR Godzilla Tech Demo, Coming on October 13th

June 14, 2016

Today Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia announced that it will release a PlayStation VR tech demo tied-in with the upcoming Godzilla Resurgence movie in collaboration with Toho.

The demo will be released on the Japanese PlayStation Store on October 13th (which is the launch of PlayStation VR in Japan, on the same day as the United States), and it will be free for a limited time.

Within the demo, players will be able to confront the full-size 118.5 m long Godzilla, created by using the actual CGI data used for the movie.

At the moment, there is no information on a western release, but since the PS4 is region free, it shouldn’t be a problem to download it from the Japanese PSN.

Hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
