The official support account for PlayStation has announced on Twitter that the recent issues facing users with new accounts and those needing to reset passwords has been fixed.
While the twitter comments would appear to show that neither issue has been fixed I recently created a new PSN account named StevenFSantana and changed my password for my main PSN account. I received both emails to verify my new account and to change the password instantly, seen in the images below.
