Sony Interactive Entertainment (which is still named Sony Computer Entertainment in Europe) has been pretty hush hush about The Last Guardian and Gran Turismo Sport for a while. This obviously made some wonder if they’re really coming this year, especially since the house of PlayStation really doesn’t seem to mind delaying games when needed.
SCEE Vice-President for Southern Europe Philippe Cardon had something to say about them during an interview on Challenges.
“For many 2015 was to be the peak of the 8th generation before entering a phase of stability, but we believe that 2016 will be another year of growth. This will be a better year for software and a very big year for hardware. We expect to still sell many consoles. And then there is Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Sony’s main event this year. This is our biggest release of this year alongside with Gran Turismo and The Last Guardian. And of course, PlayStation VR is coming.”
Looks like Cardon is confident that both GT Sport and The Last Guardian will be coming this year. Interestingly, he did not mention Horizon: Zero Dawn, which is rumored to have been delayed to early 2017.
