Yesterday, we reported that Sony Computer Entertainment is discontinuing shipments of the PS Vita in Japan, and today AV Watch reported a comment by the company on the reason for the decision:

"The role of the PlayStation Vita TV was to let people enjoy easily handheld games on their TV, and to create an opportunity to reconnect with people who distanced themselves from gaming. In the current situation, with strong sales of PS4, and also a strong PS Vita in Japan, it has played its given role."

Personally, I can say that I loved (and still love) my PS Vita TV, so I'm glad that Sony decided to create it. I'll probably keep playing on it quite frequently, at least if developers will keep supporting it. Hopefully, that will be the case.
