We already knew that Sony had a partnership with AT&T for the 3G model of the PS Vita in the US, but we still didn’t know if a similar partnership was to appear in Europe too. That partner has been announced today in an official press release: Vodafone.

The partnership will span the UK, Italy, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Australia, New Zealand (Australia and New Zealand are considered European countries by a large part of the gaming industry, as hilarious as it can sound) and The Netherlands.Vodafone’s Partner SFR will handle France.

In the countries mentioned above the 3G/Wi-Fi  model of the vita will come with a Vodafone Sim and gamers will be able to buy the new portable by Sony in Vodafone stores, both online and on the street. To sweeten the deal everyone connecting with Vodafone will receive a voucher to download Wipeout 2048 for free from the PlaysStation Store. This should make the deal a lot more palatable to many,
