Today Sony Interactive Entertainment is sending out invites for the previously teased beta of the PS4 system software update 6.0.

Interestingly, the main clarifies that "at this beta stage" the update does not include major consumer-facing features, but instead features on smaller quality of life improvement and fixes. That being said, the house of PlayStation still would like users to help test it out.

The wording of the message is unclear on whether the update won't include major feature even when it'll release, or it's something limited only to this first beta phase (assuming that there will be more, which is not confirmed).

That being said, if you're interested in helping test the update out -- after all this is what betas are all about -- and you have registered when Sony opened the surveys, you may want to check out your mailbox to see if you have been picked as a beta tester.

We'll keep you updated if anything changes, but for now, this is what we get. Feel free to let us know in the comment if you find out anything interesting as you test the beta.
