The PlayStation TV launched late last year to somewhat mixed review in the UK, the main points being that the mini console was just too expensive to get running. For close to £100 you basically got a PS Vita without a screen and if you wanted to start playing you'd have to provide your own controller, not to mention the a decent memory card to store the library of games.

It seems like Sony has heard the cries of the people (or those of the stockholders) and have dropped the price for the nifty console to a rather tempting £44.99.

It's a fair good deal and if you're interested in playing PS Vita games but don't want to commit to buying the console, this does provide a very cheap alternative, even if only a select few of the console's games are available for the device.

There are other uses for the PS TV though. Streaming PS4 games to another room is especially handy if you regularly find yourself competing for the main unit in the living room and, with a decent enough wired connection it works like a dream.
