Jim Ryan, head of global sales and marketing at Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed that Sony hasn’t yet decided whether they would be attending Gamescom 2016 or not:
“Honestly, we haven’t decided yet.”
Ryan also mentioned that the timing of an upcoming announcement (which could presumably be the official unveiling of PlayStation Neo) was a key factor in their decision. He added that Gamescom and Paris Games Week weren’t the only candidates for Sony’s European event this year, as there are other major consumer events in Europe, like Madrid and Milan.
On top of that, the firm is also considering an event of its own – like PlayStation Experience in North America.
The new, more powerful PlayStation “Neo” wasn’t at E3 this year, but has been rumored for a 2016 release.
