This holiday season has been awfully kind to the PlayStation Brand.

Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. has announced that holiday season retail sales of the PlayStation Vita, the PlayStation 3, the PSP and the PlayStation 2 exceeded 6.5 million units worldwide. Not too shabby.

The PS Vita sold half million copies since its launch in Japan and Asia last month with riveting launch titles such as Ridge Racer and Uncharted: Golden Abyss. With more than 70 PS Vita software titles currently in development for the Japanese market, the PS Vita is ensuring there will be always be a game waiting for you when you turn it on.

The PlayStation 3 has sold 3.9 million units worldwide during the holidays as its on track to reach its 15 million mark in hardware unit sales for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2012. The PS Move was no slouch either as it managed to garner 1.7 million units during the holidays. PSP sales exceeded 1.6 million units. Cheers to the new year.
