Each year the Japan Institute of Design Promotion organizes the Good Design Award. In 2016, the award involved 76 jury members who screened 4,085 entries.

Among those, 1,229 designs were awarded with a Good Design Award, and a hundred were selected for the “Best 100” awards. Among those, there is Sony Interactive Entertainment’s PlayStation VR.

Unfortunately, Sony’s Headset did not make it among the six candidates selected for this year’s Grand Award (that will be announced on October 28th), which includes a battery, a tractor, a book, an apartment building, a mapping projector and the KOOV educational robotics and programming kit (also by Sony).
