Soul Calibur V Gets Costumes Created by Bayonetta Character Designer

Namco has released an assortment of screenshots and art of Ivy, Tira and Leixia, in promotion of Soul Calibur V. The assets show off costumes designed by Mari Shimazaki, who is responsible for the character design in Bayonetta, a game I hold close to heart. The Ivy and Tira costumes are alternates but the Leixia costume will be her standard garb.

I think a similarity can definitely be drawn between the costume of Bayonetta villain Jeanne and Ivy’s alternate costume. I wonder if Shimazaki-san has designed any more costumes in the game. Now that I think about it, how much cooler would Bayonetta have been than Ezio as a guest character? Soul Calibur V launches for HD consoles in January of 2012. Hit the break for the goods.
