Soulcalibur: Lost Swords Launch Trailer Shows Off Customization Options and Plenty of Combat
Soulcalibur: Lost Swords has the distinction of being the first free-to-play entry in the long-running series, but also has plenty of new gameplay features that get to be shown off in its launch trailer.
The latest trailer for the game shows off plenty of combat and fighting in the game (as expected for a Soulcalibur title), but in addition also shows off some of the new customization options that allow players to select various elemental abilities for their characters’ weapons, choosing from either wind, fire, or water.
In a rock-paper-scissors system (fire beats wind, wind beats water, water beats fire), the new elemental system adds to the complexity of the combat and structure of combat in Soulcalibur, along with plenty of new items and chances for players to collect new weapons, either through fights or by purchasing them in-game through micro transactions, or through the crafting system also shown in the trailer.
Soulcalibur: Lost Swords releases for PS3 in Japan on February 6th, 2014, with a release date for the US currently unknown at this time.
