South Park: The Fractured But Whole's new combat system varies greatly to the series' predecessor, South Park: The Stick of Truth. While The Stick of Truth was comprised of JRPG-style turn-based battles, The Fractured But Whole will involve a much more tactical combat system based on positioning, similar to games like Fire Emblem or Advance Wars, with a different degree of complexity.

South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, along with the game developers, go through the design choices made from observing gamers playing the previous game. Parker mentions in the video: "We want it to be complex enough to be fun and challenging and have strategies, but we want it to be simple enough that it looks like South Park and it's still fun"

South Park: The Fractured But Whole releases worldwide on December 6 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
