SpeedRunners Heading to Nintendo Switch Next Week, Demo Available Now

The popular superhero racing game is heading to Nintendo Switch next week. Pre-orders are available, as is a playable demo.

SpeedRunners is heading to the Nintendo Switch next week and tinyBuild has announced that the action-packed running game is now on the eShop for pre-orders, as well as a free demo also being available.

SpeedRunners is a side-scrolling racing game where the player takes control of numerous superheroes in a lap race that goes around a 2D environment. The player can pick up power-ups and tools to help them get ahead of the other players.

Players can also be eliminated if they stray too far from the edges of the screen, so slowing them down is a priority. Or if you’re falling behind, then trying to speed up is the new priority.

If you want to know what DualShockers thought of the title when it was on PS4, you can find our review here. There’s also a launch trailer from 3 years ago available to watch directly below.

The game can be played with up to 4 players, but also includes a single-player campaign that consists of numerous races against the AI at different difficulties. There are also numerous characters to unlock, and there are in-game purchases to upgrade how some character elements look, such as trails.

tinyBuild says that SpeedRunners is still one of their most played games across PC, Xbox One, and PS4. The game, developed by DoubleDutch Games initially launched back in 2016 for PC, then the following year for PS4 and Xbox One.

SpeedRunners will land on the Nintendo Switch on January 23, 2020.
