Spider-Man: Edge of Time Announced, Needs to Make Its Mind Up

Beeknox, developers of Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, are back for another go at the franchise with Spider-Man: Edge of Time. There’s no word on whether it’s a direct sequel, but according to the press release, it’ll somehow simultaneously take place in “two connected and evolving timelines”: the standard “Amazing Spider-Man” reality, along with the high-tech “Spider-Man 2099” universe.

Sounds like a bit of a jumbled mess, but they’ve also brought on long-time, heavily respected comics scribe Peter David to flesh out the story and hopefully bring a memorable experience to the gamer. Shattered Dimensions pretty much received a collective “it’s alright” verdict from gamers, so I’m not sure how excited they’ll be to take up the reins as the wall crawler again when it launches this fall, only a year after Shattered Dimensions was released.

Allen Park

Allen is an utter whore of a gamer; he's completely open-minded to all games, be they AAA blockbusters or $5 casual children's games. His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
