Marvel fans are currently caught in the hype web of the new Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer, which visually confirmed the return of past live-action villains and a few characters from the Tom Holland trilogy.

The rumor that hasn’t been confirmed, and most likely won’t be until the film’s release, is the involvement of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men. People affiliated with the project are understandably keeping tight-lipped, however, a returning actor from Far From Home may have confirmed Maguire’s Multiverse comeback.

J.B. Smoove Interview

  • Speaking with The Illuminerdi at an event, J.B. Smoove, who plays Peter Parker’s teacher Mr. Dell,  was asked which previous Spider-Man he would be thrilled to see unite with Holland’s Spidey, to which he replied “Tobey Maguire of course, man.”

The actor was also asked which returning, live-action Spider-Man villain he was most excited to see. “Of course man, Jamie Foxx coming back, baby. Come on, what’s up, Jamie! That’s my dude right there, I’m excited, I’m very excited about it,” Smoove said.

The interviewer was very direct with his question, giving Smoove the two options of Maguire or Garfield to choose from. The question was also very matter of fact as if it had already been confirmed that the two Spider-Men were present in the film, and Smoove responded in the same tone. There was no awkwardness nor any pause to think about his answer, which some fans have taken as confirmation that both actors will “team up” with Holland at some point in No Way Home.

Is There More Proof That Maguire and Garfield Will Be in No Way Home?

  • Yes. There has been a flurry of evidence that suggests both Spider-Men from Sony’s features will appear when Doctor Strange tears the Multiverse.

Firstly, Garfield’s stunt double was spotted on set during filming for No Way Home. The stunt actor even posted on Instagram about working on the set before the post was swiftly deleted.

Secondly, the Spanish dub and Brazilian dub voice actors Roger Pera and Manolo Rey, who both worked on Sam Raimi’s trilogy, hinted that they both did some work for No Way Home.

Lastly, there has been a new release of No Way Home figures, and one figure is clearly Maguire’s webbed suit from the original trilogy.

Spider-Man: No Way Home will release in theaters on December 17th.
