Swinging in the Raimi Suit to Danny Elfman's Theme in Marvel's Spider-Man is the Coolest Thing You Can Do Today

As soon as Insomniac added the Raimi suit to Marvel's Spider-Man, there was only one thing I could think to do.

December 20, 2018

The iconic Sam Raimi Spider-Man suit from the original three Spidey movies was added to Marvel’s Spider-Man as a free update earlier today and as someone who grew up with those films as a kid, I couldn’t have been happier. While they might be cheesy, the original Raimi trilogy was foundational to why I fell in love with Spidey to begin and only led me further down a rabbit hole of reading the character’s stories.

As soon as I downloaded the game’s new update to net the Raimi suit for myself today, there was only one thing I could think to do: swing around while listening to Danny Elfman’s original score from the films. So that’s exactly what I did and I captured that footage to share with you as well. I decided to go with the Spider-Man 2 version of the Main Theme because not only does it tie back to the original game from Activision that made open world Spidey games all the rage to begin with, but also because Spider-Man 2 is the best film in the trilogy. It’s also still a better film than anything in the MCU, but that’s an argument for another day.

DUALSHOCKERS VIDEO OF THE DAY

With the Raimi suit equipped and Elfman’s score playing, Marvel’s Spider-Man really does feel like a modern version of the Spider-Man 2 game. As someone who grew up playing that game incessantly, this really does bring so many memories rushing back to me. I know it’s likely not as good in 2018 as it was back in the early 2000s, but man, do I love that video game. There’s a reason why fans wanted this suit in Marvel’s Spider-Man so badly and I’m so glad that Insomniac was able to add it.

Also, as one last note, I even tried to match the time of day in-game to mirror with the original Spider-Man 2 film poster. Yes, I am a huge freaking nerd, thanks for letting me know.

Anyway, the video is attached below if you wanna watch. I hope you think it’s as cool as I do.
