Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions Crawling Into Stores This September

Previous Spider-Man games have been bleh. Not the greatest of games, when compared to other superhero-based games. Interestingly enough, however, Activision’s newest Spider-Man game, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, is looking up to be pretty hunky-dory.

Due to release this September, the game’s story, which was written by Marvel’s Dan Slott, finds four different Spideys working across parallel universes to put together the Tablet of Order and Chaos, which sounds more like something that War from Darksiders would use to his advantage. Oh, and there’s a nice trailer for you guys to watch after the jump.

Some innovative web combat and visuals have been mentioned here and there, but the same thing was said for Spider-Man 3 the game, and that turned out to be more innovative than a monkey slinging poo. But, I’m pretty confident that this release might do the series the long-awaited justice it deserves. I mean, it does have an actual Marvel writer who worked on the story.

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is due to release on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and Nintendo DS.
