Spiritual Successor to 999 Gets an English Trailer

Last month, Aksys strangely renamed it’s cult mystery hit from 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors to Zero Escape: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors. The name is no less bizarre than before but I was really wondering what the point of adding the Zero Escape moniker was. Now that Aksys has revealed Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward, I understand perfectly.

Virtue’s Last Reward is not a direct sequel to 999 but instead a spiritual successor, set in the same universe and taking place several years after the events in 999. It too appears to have some tantalizing psychological thriller and mystery elements. It will also reportedly feature a few of the same characters as the first game. Also, it has 3D graphics!

Finally, a new trailer for the game has been released and can be viewed below. Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward will be available in North America for the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita this November.
