Today, Nintendo announced that the Splatoon 2-themed Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, which was previously announced for other territories, is making its way to North America. The news came via the following tweet from Nintendo of America's official Twitter account:

The controller will launch simultaneously alongside Splatoon 2, which is poised to hit Nintendo Switch on July 21st for $59.99 USD. Like the standard Pro Controller, the Splatoon 2 decorated version will cost $69.99 USD, and allows you to play the Nintendo Switch with a more traditional controller scheme.

The difference between it and the standard version is that Splatoon 2 version features bright pink and bright green grips, which you can see in the picture above. Personally -- and this is coming from someone who usually relishes in the boring and clean designs -- I kinda like it.

In other recent and related news, today Nintendo released a new trailer that features Splatoon 2, ARMS, and the newly-announced Pokkén Tournament DX: aka three of some of the Switch's mostly hotly anticipated games. Meanwhile, looking ahead to E3, Nintendo has announced the Splatoon 2 world Inkling Invitational, where four teams from around the world will compete in a tournament on the industry's biggest annual stage.
