Japanese TV commercials are often pretty crazy on their own, and if you add the inherent craziness of Splatoon 2, you get crazy... squared.

Today Nintendo released three commercials for the upcoming game, dedicated to the Japanese market. Two show gameplay, from multiplayer matches to the Salmon Run co-op mode, while the third is actually live action, with real people getting really messy with colored ink.

The first Splatoon was massively successful in Japan, so it's not surprising that Nintendo is using the sequel to popularize the Switch in the archipelago of the rising sun. It'll be interesting to see the results, even if shortages of the actual console might limit the effect of the game itself.

You can check them out below, and if you want to see more, you can watch today's Nintendo Direct, that came with about half an hour of Splatoon 2 information, another trailer, and more footage from E3. Last, but not least, a trailer showcasing the single player campaign.

Splatoon 2 launches on July 21st, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
