The results for Splatoon 2‘s ninth North American Splatfest event have been calculated, and it Team Chicken has won with a 2-1 victory over Team Egg.

Splatfest results are dictated into three categories: popular votes, solo, and team; Team Egg snagged the popular vote with 59%, while Team Chicken snagged solo and team battles with 53% and 56% respectively. If you were unaware of what the latest Splatfest was about, it made players decide what they thought came first: the chicken of the egg.

Carrying over from the first Splatoon, Splatfest is a unique event that pits players to choose between two teams, typically based on age-old debates, and has players settle the score by voting and fighting for their preferred team. During the event, Ranked Mode and Turf War are disabled and replaced with Splatfest.

During a Splatfest, teams are based on your votes (i.e., 4 Chicken voters vs. 4 Egg voters). Previous splatfests have seen fights between cats and dogs, money or love, flight vs. invisibility, and more. Currently, information on the next Splatfest has yet to be announced.

In other Splatoon 2 news, last week, Nintendo announced that the title would receive an extensive update next month. Additionally, the developer revealed that a new expansion titled Octo would launch sometime this summer with pre-ordering now live.

Splatoon 2 is available now exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
