Nintendo has announced a new Splatfest for Splatoon 2, this time pitting Retro and Modern against one another. This Splatfest will launch September 21 at 9:00 P.M. Pt to September 22 at 9:00 P.M. PT.

This weekend will also see some significant changes to Splatfest. The previous Solo and Team modes have been replaced with Normal and Pro. In Normal mode you can play by yourself or with a team of friends and the amount you inked is added to the win bonus to determine your clout. However, in Pro mode you will play by yourself and clout is determined by how well you beat the opposing team. Bonus 10x Battles will be added into matchmaking that will reward players with a 10x multiplier at the end of the match. An even rarer 100x Battle match will also be thrown in.

Final Splatfest results will be determined by votes, Normal clout, and Pro clout. The Nintendo Switch online service has just launched on September 18, 2018 and will now be required to play games like Splatoon 2 online.
