Nintendo has announced the next Splatfest coming to Splatoon 2, and it's an epic clash between the fantasy genre and sci-fi.

Nintendo has asked Splatoon 2 owners to pick a side on some pretty controversial debate topics like vampires versus werewolves, ketchup or mayonnaise, flight versus invisibility, and more. The game’s next Splatfest asks us to choose one genre, sci-fi or fantasy.

Like previous Splatfest events before this one, players can choose their side in Splatoon 2’s lobby area. The main event will begin this upcoming Friday so make sure to choose a side before then. The competition will play out all weekend long. I personally love sci-fi and fantasy pretty equally so I’m still unsure which side to pick. Choosing only one sort of makes me feel like I’m betraying the other. Nonetheless, there can only be one winner.

Splatoon 2 released earlier this summer exclusively on the Switch and the game has gotten numerous free content updates in the form of maps and weapons. The game has shipped over 3.61 million units worldwide, and rightfully so. The title is a unique and fun addition to the Nintendo Switch’s library of first-party games. You can also grab a custom neon green and pink Switch bundle that’ll come with Splatoon 2 this holiday, the bundle is exclusive to Walmart in North America. If you already have a Switch, the new colored Joy-Con are definitely worth picking up.

Splatoon 2 is available now exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
