Nintendo's Wii U exclusive, Splatoon, is getting the eSports treatment soon in Japan. Famitsu owner, Kadokawa, alongside Dwango, owner of Japanese games video site, Nicovideo, are the organizers of the event and they have put up a $1 million as the big prize.

The tournament will start next month, with no exact date for now, but we know that it will continue for almost 4 months, finishing on January 30, 2016. Splatoon won't be alone at the eSports tournament, since sponsors have also organised another $1 million bout for the mobile puzzle game, Puzzle & Dragons.

Splatoon has proven to be rather successful for Nintendo, selling over 1.5 Million copies as of June 30.
