Nintendo’s Wii U exclusive, Splatoon, is getting the eSports treatment soon in Japan. Famitsu owner, Kadokawa, alongside Dwango, owner of Japanese games video site, Nicovideo, are the organizers of the event and they have put up a $1 million as the big prize.

The tournament will start next month, with no exact date for now, but we know that it will continue for almost 4 months, finishing on January 30, 2016. Splatoon won’t be alone at the eSports tournament, since sponsors have also organised another $1 million bout for the mobile puzzle game, Puzzle & Dragons.

Splatoon has proven to be rather successful for Nintendo, selling over 1.5 Million copies as of June 30.

My main and favorite thing to do in my life is play video games on my PS4 and admire the work that has been done in each game whether it's an AAA or an indie. Games are games no matter how many people develop it, it's the passion and hard work behind it. I am a crazy fan of Game of Thrones and love to read National Geographic magazines.
