As reported yesterday, the Wii U edition of Splinter Cell Blacklist has started to pop up on various internet-based retailers for pre-order. The following features have been laid out for the game on its American Amazon listing:

  • Splinter Cell Blacklist offers enhanced gameplay options on the WiiU. The Gamepad mimics Sam’s OpSat, allowing the player to operate gadgets such as tri-rotor drones, sticky cam and much more through touch and motion based inputs.

  • The WiiU GamePad allows for faster reaction times, letting the player mark and execute enemies, switch weapons and choose gadgets to adapt to any situation.

  • Track your friends’ missions and see what Splinter Cell Blacklist players are doing worldwide through the GamePad.

A new trailer has been released for the aforementioned Wii U edition. Showing in-game examples of trirotor drone control, spy cam operation, weapons and gadget selection, and the killing-in-motion gameplay feature. All accessible via the Wii U gamepad.

Splinter Cell Blacklist is being developed by Ubisoft Toronto and will be published by Ubisoft for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, and Wii U on August 20th, 22nd, and 23rd in the U.S., Australia, and Europe, respectively. The Wii U trailer is available below.
