Naughty Dog and Sony teamed up several months ago and held the Uncharted Audition. The competition had the community vote based on videos and images posted that lead to auditions being held for sixteen luck finalists. Those selected would compete for a chance to design a multiplayer character for Uncharted 3.
The competition, judged by the voices and creative staff of Uncharted, ended with Jeremy Gallant from New York City winning the competition.
Naughty Dog has announced that in the upcoming patch 1.13, Jeremy’s designed character will be coming to Uncharted 3 multiplayer. Naughty Dog had created a back story to fit this new adventurer of the Uncharted world:
Jeremy “Spyder” Gallant is a 24 year old adventurer with a knack for acrobatics and rock star/bad boy behavior. Orphaned when his parents went missing at an early age, Jeremy took to the streets, using his skills as a free runner to traverse rooftops and commit impressive break-ins, burglary, and getaways. Donning the nickname, “Spyder” he now uses his abilities to explore tombs and catacombs to uncover centuries old secrets, for he lives for the thrill of discovery and to follow in the footsteps of his archeologist parents.
Spyder will be available for all players to use once patch 1.13 is released and will bring flips and taunts to the game for the price of free. Uncharted fans have much to look forward to as Naughty Dog releases more and more information on the upcoming patch.
Naughty Dog even shared a video featuring Spyder, the creation of the character, and the motion capturing for the character’s movements that can be viewed below.
