Spyro Reignited Trilogy Listed for Nintendo Switch by Gamestop Germany

Gamestop Germany may have accidentally just revealed the release date for Spyro Reignited Trilogy on Nintendo Switch.

A listing via Gamestop Germany seemingly confirms that the Spyro Reignited Trilogy will be launching for the Nintendo Switch sometime later this year. While nothing has been officially revealed as of right now, it frankly wouldn’t be surprising at all to see Spyro make his way onto Switch considering the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy made its way onto the console-handheld hybrid in June of 2018. The Gamestop Germany listing has the Spyro Reignited Trilogy posted with a release date August 16.

The Spyro Reignited Trilogy originally launched for PS4 and Xbox One on November 18 last year. This collection contains the first three original Spyro games that had made their way exclusively onto the first PlayStation home console starting in 1998. Now that Spyro’s no longer in Sony’s hands, all new players have the chance to jump into these classics on multiple platforms.

Spyro is definitely a great fit on Nintendo’s console, only further enhancing its library of fantastic platformer experiences like Sonic Mania, Super Mario Odyssey, Celesteand more. Considering developer Toys For Bob ported the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy to Switch and fully developed the Spyro Reignited Trilogy for PS4 and Xbox One, fans can expect a really solid port when the game does make its way onto Nintendo Switch.

Both Spyro Reignited Trilogy and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy saw major success even decades after the original titles both launched. Additionally, on June 21, longtime Crash Bandicoot fans and newcomers alike will be able to get their hands on Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueledan updated remaster of the original 1999 PlayStation kart racer. It’s certainly awesome to see some of these retro titles get a new coat of paint as well as refinements to their overall gameplay; which in some cases hasn’t aged all too well on the PS1 hardware.

We reviewed the collection back when it launched and gave the complete title a great 8.5 out of 10. If you just can’t wait to get your hands on the Spyro Reignited Trilogy for Switch you can get your hands on it now on all of the previously mentioned platforms. We’ll be sure to update you once the Switch version gets an official announcement.
