You know, I've learned to not be surprised by anything that 2018 has to throw at us—just today alone, we had a freaky Detective Pikachu trailer, and we lost Marvel's Stan Lee, a man I previously assumed would just live forever. So with that in mind, I didn't even bat an eye when I saw a headline about a fire-breathing drone that looks like a messed-up Spyro delivering the "first" copy of Spyro Reignited Trilogy to Snoop Dogg.To be fair, this stunt was in the works for some time, and what resulted was a bizarre scene where Snoop bestows a gold chain necklace on the Spyro drone, which he calls his "nephew." Before this, Snoop Dogg has weirdly been present through the recent history of modern video gaming, most notably with a voice role in Call of Duty: Ghosts. He's like a strange Forrest Gump of video games. Imagine my shock when I searched for Snoop Dogg-related stories in DualShockers to check if there was anything to backlink to—the results were astounding.Seriously, just run that search query. I had no clue that the man had parts in Battlefield 1, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, the promotion for Rayman Legends, and so on and so forth. Out of all of the "gamer celebrities" out there, Snoop Dogg is probably the most prominent one of them all.Huh? Oh, right, I should probably mention the actual video game. Spyro Reignited Trilogy is releasing soon, tomorrow November 13 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. There's a new look at the Dragon Shores level, and you can preorder the game on Amazon here.
