Fans of Dragon Quest Monsters, rejoice! Square Enix has released a handful of screenshots and details about the upcoming title, Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3, fleshing out the world and the "Reactor" system.

The world of Joker 3 seems varied, ranging from medieval castles to seemingly urban dungeons and cities.  The screenshots range from normal, outdoor environments to climate extremes (lava and ice landscapes).

New to Joker 3, the above screenshots show off the new Reactor system that the protagonist uses in-game. According to Square Enix, using the Reactor will alert and uncover hidden objects in the game world. Be it treasure chests or hidden bridges, the Reactor will give a better sense of the nearby environment.

Not only that, but the "Ride" system has been included into the title. The aptly-named Ride feature lets you ride monsters across the world, even flying monsters. Further, you can even attack nearby monsters while riding one. Seeing how there are over 500 types of monsters in the game, chances are you will have plenty to time to experiment.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 is currently in development for Nintendo 3DS. The game has been confirmed for a Japan release, with no word on whether the title will be coming to the West. However, based on the series prior history, it is safe to assume a Western port will be on its way.
