Square Enix Reveals The Last Remnant Remastered for PS4

Square Enix will be bringing The Last Remnant Remastered to the PS4 as a digital-only title in Japan later this year on December 6.

A few weeks ago, we learned that Square Enix would be removing The Last Remnant from Steam. We now know that Square Enix is remastering the title for PS4 and it’ll release in Japan later this year on December 6. The title originally was only released on the Xbox 360 and PC back in 2008. A PS3 version was planned but never saw the light of day. You can check out the reveal trailer down below as well as some new screenshots from the game’s website.

The Last Remnant Remastered will be a digital-only title on the PS4. It’ll also drop Unreal Engine 3 for a more modern engine. Since its launch back in 2008, you don’t hear too many, if any, Square Enix fans talking about The Last Remnant. When it launched nearly 10 years ago the title received mixed reviews. As of right now we do not know whether or not the remaster will be localized.

We’ll hopefully hear more about The Last Remnant Remastered once Tokyo Game Show begins later this month on September 20. Square Enix announced their lineup a few days ago. Furthermore, we got to check out a bunch of upcoming Square Enix projects like Left Alive,  Kingdom Hearts III, and Project Prelude Rune during Sony’s pre-TGS stream.
