Square Enix Trademarks “Three Kingdoms of Gods and Demons” Just Before E3, Possibly a Console Game

Square Enix is going to have its E3 press conference tomorrow, and something interesting was just published by the Japanese Patent and Trademark Office, a trademark registration for “Kami to Majin no Sangokushi” or “Three Kingdoms of Gods and Demons.

Interestingly the main class listing (9 for games), includes games for home consoles (TV game) and arcade games, but does not include mobile games, which gives us solid hope for this to be an actual console game and not the usual mobile shovelware.

The “Sangokushi” definitely seems to be a callback to the classic “Romance of the Three Kingdoms” literature, which inspired a myriad of games pretty much in every possible setting.

It’ll be interesting to see if this is the first hint to an E3 announcement, or something that we’ll hear about down the line.  KamitoMajin
