Square Enix Will Now Price PC Titles At $70 As Well
This is awful!
Square Enix is the first greedy triple-A publisher that prices its PC titles at $70 similar to the next-gen consoles.
Despite the good games that we have received in the new generation of consoles so far, the $10 rise in the price of the games is probably an annoying part of the 9th generation.

Sony, Square Enix, 2K Games, and Activision Blizzard were among the companies that soon after the release of next-gen consoles started to price their new titles at $70 instead of $60.
Now, it seems the same policy is going to be followed on PC as well, with Square Enix leading the price change in PC games.
Square Enix Priced Forspoken at $70 for PC
Soon after The Game Awards 2021 finished, where Forspoken and the PC version of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade got official release dates, it was revealed on Steam and Epic Games Store that both games will be available for $70 on PC.
Now, it might be less annoying for Forspoken as it has been in development for the 9th-gen consoles, but pricing Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade at the same price for PC is definitely a shame for the publisher.
Final Fantasy VII Remake was originally developed for PS4 and launched back in 2020 as a $60 game. Now, after over a year, PC players will have to pay $70 to play it through Epic Games Store. A disappointing decision by Square Enix for sure. Although it features the Intergrade content as well, it doesn’t make it to be worth $70.
Just as an example, Sony launched Days Gone at $49.99 and will do the same for the upcoming PC version of God of War.
Unfortunately, the other publishers will follow the same policy on PC titles sooner or later, which means we should probably be ready for the $70 Call of Duty or FIFA on PC in the near future.
