Netflix recently renewed the popular South Korean survival series 'Squid Game' for one more season. The creators announced Season 2 of the series with a new teaser, which comes with the text "Red Light...GREENLIGHT."

Season 1 of Squid Game premiered on Netflix last year in September, and it featured a total of nine episodes. The show told the story of Seong Ji-hun, who takes part in a children's game along with 455 other players. Seong accepts the offer to get a chance to win the â‚©45.6 billion grand prize. However, the participants later learn that everyone who loses in the game will die, so everyone is fighting for their survival. Regardless, Seong and other participants decide to continue playing the game because they are left with nothing to lose in the outside world.

Squid Game's characters and unique concept grabbed the attention of millions of worldwide viewers. The first season ends with Seong winning the Squid Game, but in the end, he decides to go against the influential people who are running these games throughout the country. So, we all knew that Hwang Dong-hyuk, the show's creator, wanted to continue Squid Game's story for more seasons. However, the creator and the fans were waiting for Netflix to renew the show.

Well, after a long wait, we finally have a confirmation for Squid Game season 2, but it's still too soon for Netflix to give us a release date for the next season.

Interestingly, Squid Game Season 2 teaser is accompanied by a message from Hwang Dong-hyuk. The statement from Hwang says, "It took 12 years to bring the first season of 'Squid Game' to life last year. But it took 12 days for 'Squid Game' to become the most popular Netflix series ever."

The creator also confirmed that Gi-hun and The Front Man are returning in Season 2. Apart from that, the new season will also introduce us to Young-hee's boyfriend, Cheol-Su.
