Today Chris Roberts' Cloud Imperium Games released a new video of the upcoming space simulator Star Citizen.

The video focuses mostly on the game's quantum travel feature, and more precisely on how it has been overhauled for the upcoming alpha 3.0 version.

Instead of being just a brief and monotonous trip through a tunnel of light, which is always the same regardless of where you go, developers have made it more meaningful and interesting by having speed vary depending on distance, and where you go.

We also get to see some very spiffy particle effects, topping what is already a gorgeous game.

In other Star Citizen news, the game has passed another crowdfunding milestone, with over $164 Million pledged among 1,909,613 supporters. To be more precise, now the game is comfortably sitting on a total budget of $164,145,102

You can check out the video below. If you want to see more, you should definitely watch the absolutely impressive planetary footage showcased recently at citizencon, and a few more videos highlighting the game's visuals.

Before you watch the video, you should keep in mind for the sake of full disclosure that the author of this article is also one of the backers of the game.
