Star Citizen is continuing to grow after the release of Alpha 3.1, and Cloud Imperium Games released a new video of its Around the Verse series.

After a studio update, the video introduced a new ship series, the Hercules Starlifter by Crusader Industries.

It’s certainly not random that the ship’s namesakes are the Lockheed C-130 Hercules and Lockheed C-141 Starlifter, as it’s a transport ship.

Interestingly, it will come in three variants. The civilian version will have full cargo space. The military version will trade off some for more guns. The gunship version does exactly what it says on the tin, and it’s probably another homage to the Lockheed AC-130 ground-attack gunships.

We also get an update about the rest of the ships in development, including a special segment on the Anvil Hurricane.

In other Star Citizen news, the game passed another crowdfunding milestone, with the tally at over 184 million dollars. To be precise, the total is at $184,190,716 at the moment of this writing.

For the sake of full disclosure, the author of this article is one of the backers of the game.
