Crowdfunded-title Star Citizen has been blasting through stretch goals and fundraising expectations since the project's initial launch in 2012, and with its progress over the weekend, its sailed past another goal and reached for the stars.

After adding in a new series of ships to purchase toward the game, fundraising for the game soared past the $50 million mark with the inclusion of "The 2945 RSI Constellation Lineup," a collection of four new spaceships (price ranges between $150-$350) that brought in an additional $198,450 toward the massive project. Though the title usually brings in around $40K a day through crowdfunding resources, the addition of the ship collection brought the weekend tally for the title up over $1.3 million.

With the game now having crossed the $50 million threshold, the game's website updated to include a newly-accomplished stretch goal, with the latest including "distinctive and realistic alien languages" that will be created by professional linguists for the game's three biggest alien races: the Vanduul, the Xi'An, and the Banu. The newly-accomplished stretch goal promises that each of the aliens "will be speaking their own authentic languages."

Star Citizen will release for PC and Linux, with a release date currently targeted in 2015.
