There are plenty of things to do in Star Citizen to earn money, but sometimes there is a limited opportunity to become a millionaire only in a few days. Limited-time events in Star Citizen are great ways to get rich fast, but they do come at a price.
Jumptown is one of these limited opportunities to get rich fast. However, this is a risky mission to do alone, unless you are lucky enough to join a server with fewer players where no one intends to raid Jumptown.
What Is Jumptown?
Jumptown is a PvP event in Star Citizen that has been around for quite a while. During this mission, players confront each other for raiding a drug production facility. The more drugs you get, the more money you will earn, but it's not as easy as it may sound to you.
That being said, the rules in Star Citizen are not set in stone. So, if you go into a server with friendly players, you might find many civilized players who stand in line to get their drug packs one by one instead of fighting with each other. However, there is no guarantee that someone won't come to bombard all those civilized citizens!
How To Earn Money From Jumptown
When Jumptown is active, you will spot a mission called "Priority" in your Contracts tab. This will appear in both General and Personal quests, and there is a point there. If you accept it legally, you will return drugs to UEE or BlackJac forces, but otherwise, you will make a deal with criminals. There are advantages and disadvantages to both sides, but for the beginners it is highly advised to accept the legal mission.
As soon as you accept the mission, you will receive two different locations on your map: one for the Production Facility, where all the fight is going on, and the other showing the place you need to drop off or sell the drugs.
The production facility, which is called Jumptown is usually located at one of the moons like Yela or Lyria. Keep in mind that Jumptown doesn't have a Quantum Travel ping, which means you need to travel from the space onto the moon via Hydrogen fuel, which might take some time.
However, you can shorten the distance by traveling to the OM that is closest to Jumptown. You can usually shorten the distance to 300 or 200 kilometers. Once you make it near Jumptown, you will probably see a bunch of ships around it. Some ships may even roam around Jumptown to provide air support for their friends who are packing drugs inside Jumptown. So, you really need to be careful. You can ask players to see if they want to have a hostile or friendly approach, but you can also be the one who breaks the law.
Once you land successfully, get inside the production facility. There are two doors that lead inside the facility and each door is closer to one of the production lines. Once you are in, turn right, and you will enter a room where you can spot a cargo delivery box on the wall. In a certain period, like every 20 seconds, the cargo delivery produces a pack of drugs. You need to grab as many packs as you can and put it inside your ship. Needless to say that your ship needs to have good cargo space. Something around 2 to 8 SCU of cargo space would be fine. Even ships like Vanguard Harbinger that feature a small corridor is also fine for collecting drugs.
If it's quiet around Jumptown you can pack as many drug boxes as you can, but if things look suspicious, you are advised to grab 5 packs and leave, and then return for more. Getting greedy could easily get you killed as a single player with an A2 Hercules or Eclipse can bombard all the ships in the area. Leaving you nothing to carry out the drugs.
Once you leave the facility, head to the drop-off zone. Now, if you have accepted the legal mission, you will have to drop it off in official stations like Baijini Point. So, you just land inside a hangar, store your ship in the station, and head to the Admin Office inside Galleria. There, you will find a Commodity terminal, where you can sell all your drug packs. Selling the cargo legally will get you 20,000 aUEC per package.
On the other hand, if you choose to sell the contraband illegally, you will be sent to a location on one of the moons to drop it off in a waste management facility, but it is quite dangerous, as other players could camp there to kill you and steal your cargo. Selling the contraband illegally usually pays off lower, but instead, you could receive a reward from your quest giver.
Keep in mind that each Production Facility has a limited capacity of producing drug packs. If it hits the limit, the cargo delivery box will remain closed, giving out no more drugs until the event gets a restart. You can also change your server if it happens. Jumptown is usually best to do with friends. If you manage to lock down the area with both ground and airborne forces, you can get all the contraband and earn millions of money.
